How to check and claim

  1. Go to unclaimed.org and use MissingMoney.com to search many participating states at once.

  2. Also search the official site of every state you have lived or done business in, because not all states may show up in one search.

  3. If there is a match, follow the link to that state's official government site to file the claim.

Go to the official site.

Checking is free. The FTC warns that the government will not call or text you asking you to pay to search for unclaimed money. Go to the official site yourself and never pay a "processing" fee.
