New York small claims courts by county

In New York City, small claims go to the Small Claims Part of the Civil Court in the borough (county) where you or the defendant lives. Elsewhere, file in the City Court if the defendant lives, works or does business in a city, the District Court in Nassau and western Suffolk, or otherwise the Town or Village Justice Court for the defendant's town or village.
